True Love Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1-2/3 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup baking cocoa
- 1-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1-1/4 cups water
- 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Frosting:
- 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen reduced-fat whipped topping, thawed
- 1 package (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup confectioners’ sugar

Topping:
- 1/2 cup candy hearts
- 3/4 cup flaked coconut

Baking Instruction:
- Using large bowl, beat butter and sugar until crumbly for 2 minutes. Add the eggs one by one. Beat well after adding each egg. Add the applesauce.
- Mix flour, salt, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda. Add each ingredient to the mixture alternately while adding a little bit of water. Beat well after each addition. Throw in the chips. Pour mixture into 13 x 9 inch baking pan Coat the pan with cooking spray before pouring.
- Bake at 350° for 35 until 40 minutes.
- For frosting, beat confectioners’ sugar and cream cheese in a bowl until smooth. Add vanilla, and then fold whipped topping. Frost the cake, then keeps in refrigerator until serving. Sprinkle candy and coconut before serving.
